1-2. Verify identity, experience, and material control
Start with the legal business identity, published address, trading role, manufacturing resources, export experience, target markets, and the people responsible for your account. Ask how long the team has handled the relevant product category, not only how long a company name has existed. Confirm where samples, production, inspection, invoicing, and shipment will occur. If several facilities or partners are involved, document which one performs each process.
Then specify material by component. Inner wall, outer wall, base, lid, straw, gasket, coating, ink, adhesive, and packaging can have different materials and evidence. Ask for grade, thickness, resin type, colorant, and source information appropriate to the order. A statement such as stainless steel or BPA-free is too broad unless it is tied to the exact SKU, components, use conditions, and supporting documentation.
3-4. Confirm product fit and development capability
Review the supplier's verified model range against your capacity, lid, handle, cup-holder, insulation, cleaning, target-price, and channel requirements. Do not choose a model because its photograph resembles a market leader. Obtain drawings, dimensions, filled weight, component lists, packing details, and samples. Make sure the selected mold is available for your quantity and that replacement lids or gaskets can be supplied if your program requires them.
For customization, separate decoration on an existing model from structural development. Logo printing, color matching, and packaging usually follow a different timeline and risk profile than a new lid, mold, or product architecture. Ask who prepares drawings, prototypes, tooling, validation samples, and intellectual-property records. Define ownership, approval, change rules, and what happens if a prototype does not meet the brief.
5-6. Examine production resources and quality controls
Capacity should be assessed for your model, process, quantity, and delivery window. Ask which operations are performed on site, which are subcontracted, how peak-season loading is handled, and what contingency exists for equipment, labor, coating, decoration, or packaging delays. A large annual figure is not enough; the buyer needs a realistic production plan with milestones and material readiness for the exact order.
Quality controls should be method-based. OXYDIARY's stated workflow includes checks related to metalworking, polishing, coating, color, vacuum performance, and packaging, but the applicable plan still has to be confirmed for each SKU. Agree inspection level, sample size, defect definitions, measurement tools, leak orientation, thermal conditions, decoration adhesion, packaging checks, reporting, and corrective action before production begins.
7-8. Match evidence and compare complete commercial terms
Request available company and product documents early, then verify their scope. References to LFGB, FDA, BSCI, REACH, ISO, or BPA-related testing can mean different things: a management certificate, social audit, material declaration, laboratory report, or customer-specific test. Compare the applicant, supplier, sample name, model, photo, component, method, date, result, and limitations with the final order. Ask a qualified adviser to confirm current destination requirements.
Compare quotations on the same specification and quantity basis. Separate product, lid, accessories, decoration, packaging, tooling, sample, testing, inspection, freight, duty, and payment costs. Review MOQ by model and color, sample charges, payment milestones, rework responsibility, warranty handling, spare parts, and validity period. The lowest unit price can create a higher landed cost if it excludes the approved configuration or shifts risk to the buyer.
9-10. Test delivery planning and communication
Ask for a timeline that begins with specification approval and ends with the required delivery point. It should include material, sample, artwork, color, testing, packaging, production, inspection, booking, and transit. Distinguish sample lead time from production lead time and factory-ready date from warehouse arrival. Confirm how late changes affect cost and schedule, and require early notice of risks rather than optimistic silence.
Finally, test communication before awarding the order. Send a structured RFQ and evaluate whether the reply answers each item, identifies assumptions, flags contradictions, and proposes controlled alternatives. Record who owns technical questions, commercial approval, production updates, quality issues, and logistics. A responsive salesperson is useful, but reliable supply depends on information moving accurately between the buyer and every operating team.
